CoGri Australia

Before partnering with Peninsula, we were not sure how exposed the business was to health and safety risk. Peninsula is the game changer for a high-risk industry like us.

Lia Perez

Senior Operations Administrator

Introduction

CoGri Australia is a specialist industrial concrete flooring company, delivering floor repair, refurbishment and upgrade for warehouses, factories and industrial facilities.

When the business began expanding across Australia, Senior Operations Administrator Lia Perez faced a new set of HR and employment challenges. That's when she turned to Peninsula for support.

The Situation

As CoGri Australia expanded, so did the complexity of managing its workforce.

With around 70 full-time employees and another 50 casual workers working across different states, including New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, Lia regularly dealt with questions about employment contracts, pay rates and Awards.

Being based in New South Wales while supporting employees across Australia presented its own challenges. Lia wanted to make sure the business was applying the right employment conditions and meeting its responsibilities wherever employees were located.

“What made us decide to get external HR and WHS support is when we were growing fast, employing more staff, and establishing branches interstate. That’s where you need guidance in territory that you don’t know, making sure you’re complying with each state’s regulations.”

The Solution

That's when Peninsula came on board. Lia reached out to us whenever she needed clarity on HR, workplace relations, and employment law.

Whether she had questions about contracts, Awards or managing employees across different states, Peninsula was there to help, providing practical advice and preparing the necessary contracts and documentation along the way.

Peninsula also helped Lia understand the differences between the Clerks Award, Building and Construction Award and Miscellaneous Award. This gave her greater clarity around which Award applied to different employees, along with the pay rates, allowances and entitlements that came with each one.

Having support on hand meant Lia didn't have to spend hours trying to find answers herself.

“We work in construction, so we need to be on top of fair work obligations, safe work legislation and compliance, and the hazard protocols on each working site. Peninsula helps us with all of these factors.”

What Happened Next

Today, Lia spends less time trying to interpret modern awards, contracts and state-based requirements and more time supporting the day-to-day needs of the business. With greater clarity and confidence, managing people has become simpler and more consistent.

As CoGri Australia continues to grow, the team can spend less time worrying about workplace matters and more time focusing on delivering quality outcomes for its clients.

For Lia, one of the biggest benefits is knowing support is only a phone call away. Rather than second-guessing complex HR or Health & Safety matters, she knows Peninsula is there to help when questions arise, giving her reassurance that the business is on the right track.

“I’d highly recommend Peninsula because a small team like ours can have access to high value service without the overhead cost of in house HR personnel.”
